Priority, junctions & roundabouts

About Turning: straight-ahead traffic on the same road goes first: which statement is correct?

When turning right, checking ahead and left is enough; a separate check to the right is not needed.
The rule only applies to oncoming traffic, not to a cyclist going straight next to or behind you.
The text explicitly adds it: '(so pedestrians too!)'.
A turning car may always go first, even if a cyclist is going straight ahead.

Explanation

trap: pedestrians-dont-count. Book p.110 - the text explicitly adds it: '(so pedestrians too!)'
