Core: Equal-rank junction: no sign, but still a rule
The rechts-regel (Book p.105) applies between drivers among themselves — cars, motorcycles, cyclists, moped riders — at a junction with no sign, marking, or traffic light at all. Whoever approaches from your right may proceed; you wait. The tram is explicitly outside this rule: 'regardless of which direction the tram comes from' means the tram has priority at an equal-rank junction, even if it comes from the left or even from behind you. So the tram is not an extra application of the rechts-regel, but a separate exception to it. This rechts-regel applies specifically to drivers crossing each other at a junction; pedestrian crossing behaviour is governed by other rules and is not covered here.
