Sign C4_(rechts): One-way road: mandatory right, placed opposite an exit.
Legal meaning
One-way road (variant with the arrow to the right, placed opposite a side road or exit).
Shape and colour
Rectangular blue sign with a white arrow to the right: the crossing road is one-way in that direction.
Where the sign stands
Opposite a T-junction or on the corner of the crossing one-way street, visible from the approach.
What the exam asks about this sign
The exam asks what you may do at this sign at a T-junction: only turn right, because the crossing street is one-way to the right. Turning left is forbidden — not by a turning ban, but because you would drive against the flow. Candidates confuse it with D5 (compulsory right turn); the result is the same, the reason is not.
Often confused with
- Mandatory direction shown: turn here, follow the arrow.
D5— Blue order to turn right: same outcome, different sign. - One-way road: mandatory direction shown by the arrow.
C3— The vertical variant of the same one-way sign. - One-way road: this direction closed to traffic.
C2— The end where you may not enter.
