Sign G11: Mandatory cycle path; cyclists must use this path
Legal meaning
Compulsory cycle path.
Shape and colour
Blue round sign with a white bicycle: compulsory cycle path for cyclists and light-moped riders.
Where the sign stands
Beside the cycle path at its start, often on its own small post next to the B6 for cyclists.
What the exam asks about this sign
The exam asks who must and who may use this path: cyclists and light-moped riders must use it; moped riders may not (they belong on the carriageway or on a cycle/moped path G12a). Trap: candidates think a moped rider must also use the cycle path. When turning, watch the cycle path: cyclists going straight go first.
Trap
Reading both G11 and G13 as a mandatory bike path.
G11 is mandatory -- cyclists MUST use it; G13 is optional, the road is also allowed.
