What the exam asks about this sign

The exam asks what to do at a level crossing with barriers: slow down, look and listen, and never drive onto the crossing unless you can clear it at once (queue). At flashing red lights or lowering barriers stop before the stop line. Trap: candidates think barriers mean they can drive through without looking when the barriers are up.

Exam question on this sign

About Warning signs J: triangle, not a command: which statement is WRONG?

  1. J10 = level crossing WITH barriers. Dangerous crossroads is J8.
  2. J16 = roadworks. Level crossing with barriers is J10.
  3. At sign J17 (road narrowing) you are legally required to a specific, fixed lower speed.
