Core: Motorway: 130 standard, 100 by day — and the fixed 80 on some ring roads
The motorway has one legal standard speed: 130 km/u (Book p.119). That standard, however, does not apply around the clock. During the day, between 06:00 and 19:00, the standard speed is reduced to 100 km/u — this is the time-bound reduction seen on most matrix signs during the day. In the evening and at night, between 19:00 and 06:00, the standard of 130 km/u applies again — unless a traffic sign locally indicates something lower (for example due to roadworks or a fixed lower maximum). A separate case, independent of the clock: on some ring roads near cities a permanently lower maximum of 80 km/u applies (Book p.119) — that figure does not change with the time of day, it is a fixed, location-bound reduction.
