Why it matters: Standing still or parking: the difference

Confuse the categories, and you fall into two opposite traps. If you think waiting for a late passenger is 'standing still', you end up illegally stopped where parking is banned. If you think a necessary stop at a red light is 'parking', you needlessly hesitate at every junction in Bergen op Zoom over whether you are even allowed to stop. Both mistakes cost exam points and, worse, wrong behaviour in practice.
