Core: The 12 ADAS systems: what belongs and what does not

In §13.5 (p.219-223) the book names exactly twelve systems: autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot assistance, (active) lane-keeping assistance, crosswind correction, adaptive cruise control, night-vision system, fatigue detection, high-beam assistance, dynamic cornering lights, (automatic) parking assistance systems, traffic-sign recognition, and rear cross-traffic detection. Only for the autonomous emergency braking system does the book describe the exact mechanism (p.219): if a collision threatens, a warning signal sounds first so you can brake yourself; if you do not intervene, the car brakes automatically (hard). Two systems in the list are often confused because both signal a danger you cannot see: blind-spot assistance (system 2, to the side while driving) and rear cross-traffic detection (system 12, to the rear while reversing). The book treats them as two separate, separately numbered systems. A common mistake is adding ESP to this list. ESP appears on p.216-217 among the yellow warning lights of §13.4 — a different chapter section than the §13.5 ADAS list.
