What the exam asks about this sign

The question is what you must do after this sign: you are no longer on a priority road, so at the next equal junction traffic from the right goes first. The sign is an announcement; look at once for shark's teeth or a B6 on your own road. Candidates sometimes think they keep priority up to the sign, but the priority road ends at the next junction.

Exam question on this sign

Outside Emmen you are driving on a priority road. You pass sign B2, end of priority road. Right after it comes a crossing without signs and without shark's teeth. A car approaches from the right and one from the left at the same time. What do you do?

  1. You let the car from the right go first and go ahead of the car from the left
  2. You drive on first, because you keep priority until the municipal boundary
  3. You let both cars go first, because after this sign you are on a side road
Show the answer

Correct answer: You let the car from the right go first and go ahead of the car from the left

False — the end of the priority road does not make you a side road. The sign only ends the priority road; without other signs the main rule applies: you give way to traffic from the right, and traffic from the left gives way to you.

Why learners get this wrong: On a B1 priority road you always have priority, at every crossing until the end of the municipality.
